Rita Margaret Hampton
November 19, 1952 - March 24, 2008
Rita Margaret Hampton, 55, of Christiana, formerly of Kennett Square, passed away on Monday, March 24, 2008 at Hospice of Lancaster County, Lancaster after a long battle with lung cancer.
Born in Wilmington, DE, she was the daughter of Christine Daddezio Peters of Kennett Square and the late Ralph A. Peters.
Rita was a homemaker who loved her children and family very much. She formerly worked in the mushroom industry in Kennett Square for 15 years.
She is survived by three sons, Kenneth L. Miller and his wife, Angela and Jerry A. Eldreth, all of Christiana, and Derek Miller of Quarryville; two daughters, Antonette Stella and her husband Vincent of Avondale and Laura L. Eldreth of Christiana; 11 grandchildren; three brothers, Ralph Peters and Danny Peters of Kennett Square, and Jerry Peters of Malvern; and two sisters, Christine and Helen Bennett, both of Kennett Square.
In addition to her father, Rita was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Melendez.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 28, 2008 at the Edward L. Collins Funeral Home, Inc., 86 Pine St., Oxford, where family and friends called from 1-2 p.m.
Interment will be private.
